REPORT
1. Process for adoption
The Minister for Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning has assessed the proposed
Planning Scheme Amendments (the Amendments) for Noosa Shire, in terms of submissions and
changes made as a result of public consultation, and whether or not State government interests
would be adversely affected. The Minister is satisfied that the Amendments meet the relevant
requirements and can now be adopted and formally commenced, subject to the following
conditions:
1. Amend the natural resources overlay maps to show bulk water infrastructure as shown in
the State Planning Policy interactive mapping.
2. Prior to adoption, amend the planning scheme as follows:
a) reinstate the map entitled “Schedule 7 Map – Koala Habitat Areas”, as per the
version which was released for public consultation; and
b) retain references to “Schedule 7 Map – Koala Habitat Areas” in the Biodiversity
Overlay Code.
3. Prior to adoption, amend the Cooroy and Lake Macdonald Natural Resources Overlay Map
to include the proposed water supply buffer amendment shown on the map entitled
“Proposed Amendment to Water Supply Buffer – Lake Macdonald”, prepared by Noosa
Council, dated 5 November 2015.
To meet these conditions, the relevant water supply infrastructure is now included on the overlay
mapping and the koala habitat areas map and code references reinstated.
