Assets
The Noosa Aquatic Centre was constructed in 1999 and featured:
50m tiled pool with wet-deck soiled water return systems;
Free form 20 x 15m LTS Program Pool, complete with a wading and bubble pool area;
Concrete formed sand filter comprising 8-cells with proprietary multiport auto-flow valve;
Automated water chemistry monitoring and dosing system;
Three end-suction water circulation pumps sharing a common discharge manifold;
Bulk chlorine storage area;
Two heat-pumps providing water heating.
Additional capital works were undertaken in 2000 to separate the 50m and Program Pools. The new
Program Pool plant included:
The separation of the soiled water return hydraulics and the fabrication of a dedicated balance
tank;
Installation of three vertical sand filters;
A dedicated water circulation pump;
An additional water chemistry and control and dosing system;
A dedicated heat-pump for pool water heating.
A further upgrade was completed in 2006, including the building of an additional 25m pool. This
pool included dedicated filtration, heating and chemical dosing systems. The original bulk chlorine
storage was upgraded to meet the additional disinfection load demands.
In addition to the above, a number of assets have since been acquired, constructed or upgraded
including:
Construction of shade structures;
The formalisation of an overflow carpark;
The upgrade of gym equipment.
