NAC Maintenance Plan
Maintenance is fundamental for the ongoing operations of the NAC; it is considered an investment
rather than a liability. The NAC relies on maintenance costs, these are a significant annual
investment that directly influence the day to day operation of the facility. The ongoing development
of asset knowledge through asset inspections, maintenance inspections, subsequent defect
monitoring and repairs are fundamental in developing sustainable intervention levels for renewals
and replacement of assets. The Table below provides details of previous years and future budget
forecasts for maintenance activities.

Figure 3: Annual Maintenance Costs by Asset Group
Ongoing maintenance costs are identified to ensure council understands the whole of life costs
associated with the operations of the facility. The figure below identifies the long term financial
commitment required in maintaining assets. In order to maintain assets to an acceptable level, the
cumulative costs over a ten year period will equate to $1.2m. Annex D provides a more detailed list
of maintenance activities per annum.
