3.1 Desktop review
3.1.1 Regulated Vegetation Management map
The Department of Natural Resources and Mines (DNRM) presents the Regulated Vegetation
Management Mapping (RVMM) as gazetted under the Vegetation Management Act (1999)
(VMA). Analysis of RVMM shows that the survey area does not contain mapped Regulated
Vegetation.
3.1.2 Regional Ecosystem mapping
DNRM presents a Vegetation Management Supporting map which shows the location of
Regional Ecosystems (RE) as gazetted under the VMA (1999). Analysis of this map shows that
the vegetation in the Carramar site is considered non-remnant.
3.1.3 Essential Habitat designation
Essential Habitat is a vegetation ecotype that is considered by DEHP to form potential habitat
for a species that is listed as Endangered, Vulnerable, Rare or Near Threatened under
Schedules 2-5 of the Nature Conservation (Wildlife) Regulation (2006). Essential Habitat
mapping is provided in conjunction with Regulated Vegetation Management mapping (DNRM
2016) as gazetted under the VMA (1999). The vegetation within the Carramar site is not
designated Essential Habitat.
3.1.4 WildNET search
DEHP has compiled a database of wildlife sightings and listings for all flora and fauna species
within a designated area. A database search was conducted for all listed species that have
been identified within one kilometre of the survey area. Three fauna species were listed on
WildNET as shown in Table 1.

3.1.5 EPBC Protected Matters
A report was generated using the EPBC Act Protected Matters Search Tool. It noted that there
is potential for 36 Threatened Species and 17 Migratory Species to occur within one kilometre of
the survey area, including the Koala (Phascolarctos cinereus) and Grey-headed flying fox
(Pteropus poliocephalus), both listed as Vulnerable.
