The tenants will be responsible for collection and disposal of refuse to the designated bin and recycling
areas located on the site plan. All bins are to be stored and located in the bin area.
The site manager is responsible for recycling and waste education with the objective of waste minimisation
and re-use of waste.
3.1 Waste Storage and Recycling Area
The waste storage and recycling areas are located more than 18m away from Ernest Street within a
screened and sealed enclosure. Access is provided to the facility by a loading bay suitably sized to
accommodate a Medium Rigid Vehicle (MRV), which allows for a 12.5m template vehicle to enter and leave
the site in a forward direction. The roof form allows for sufficient clearance to allow for safe travel and lifting
of bins.
The bin area will be constructed in accordance with Council Planning Scheme Policy 09 – Waste
Management and includes a bunded area (no more than 100mm in height) for bin washing, which is drained
to the sewer.
The type of waste and storage required are:
a) bins for putrescible waste;
b) bins for recyclables;
c) drums for waste cooking oils;
d) bales for cardboard;
e) bags or bins for green waste; and
f) any other specialised waste storage bins needed, eg: medical waste;
Sufficient space will be provided between waste storage bins to allow for manoeuvring and washing of bins,
where appropriate. Access to the bin enclosure is via the rear carparking area.
