   Dear Resident,
GARDEN WASTE BIN TRIAL - 1 OCTOBER TO 4 NOVEMBER 2016
We would like to thank you for choosing to have a garden waste bin and playing your part in
Noosa Council's effort to reduce the amount of organic waste reaching landfill.
Your household has been chosen to participate in a one month waste reduction trial.
During the trial we ask that you place your vegetable and fruit waste in your garden waste
bin. This waste will be mulched at Council's Resource Recovery Facility. During the trial
some bins will also be weighed and audited as part of the study.
   To Get Started:

When: Please start adding your uncooked vegetable and fruit waste to your garden waste
bin from Sunday 1 October until Friday 4 November 2016.
       WHAT CAN YOU PUT IN:
» Uncooked vegetables and fruit waste
» Leafy vegetables, peels, egg shells, tea bags and coffee grounds
»” lf you wish these can be wrapped in newspaper
      >» If you already compost/worm farm, continue to do this
PLEASE DON’T PUT IN: Liquids, cooked food, dairy, meat, bones, bread or plastic bags.
Why are we doing it? As part of our Towards Zero Waste campaign we are investigating
different ways of reducing some of the organic food waste that is currently going to landfill,
without introducing a costly weekly organic food waste service.
Your participation is not compulsory however we would appreciate your support. For further
information contact Council’s Customer Service on 5329 6500.
   Thank you for your assistance.
