NOOSA COUNCIL
OPERATIONAL PLAN – 1 JULY 2014 to 30 JUNE 2015

Overview
Our Operational Plan 2014/15 details the major priorities and initiatives that our council will
undertake over the next 12 months to work towards the implementation of the Noosa
Corporate Plan 2014-19.
The Operational Plan forms part of a package of council planning documents including the
Corporate Plan and annual budget which guide the organisation in delivering outcomes for
the Noosa community. The Operational Plan and annual budget have been developed as a
package to ensure these major priorities and initiatives including core business service
delivery are appropriately funded as required by the Local Government Act and
Regulations.
Council key focus for the next twelve months will be on:
 Reviewing and developing key strategies and policies
 Developing and implementing our community engagement model
 Implementing the new management model for the Noosa Biosphere Reserve
 Focusing our asset program on asset renewals
 Enhancing our customer service
 Updating and maximising our use of ICT systems
 Enhancing the Council’s online services and website
 Maintaining a strong financial management discipline
 Continuing to review services and service levels
 Identifying options for the future management of the Noosa River.

“The Fine Print”
The Local Government Act and Regulations require certain statutory requirements to be
included in an Operational Plan. This part of our Operational Plan meets those
requirements:-
 As part of council’s commitment to managing business risks, Council has in place an
Enterprise Risk Management Policy and Procedure ISO 31000, to identify and report on
    strategic and operational risks as required;
 The Council will receive reports on a quarterly basis from the CEO on progress towards
achieving the initiatives identified in this Operational Plan; and
 The Council does not have any commercial business units as defined by the Local
    Government Act and Regulation.
