1. Arakoon Crescent.
2. Proposed driveway
3. Street frontage and verge which proposes to retain and protect significant and native existing trees including species of Tuckeroo, Pandanus, and Melalueca.
Existing trees that are required to be removed for the proposed driveway are proposed to be reinstate with like for like species and advanced sizes and
include Banksia, Pandanus (Pandanus a potential species to be relocated otherwise replaced) and Tuckeroo. Existing trees are supplemented by native
shrubs and groundcovers which taper up from the road edge whilst providing driveway sight lines and improving the existing buffer to the built form from
the street. Species include Banksia, Austromyrtus, Baeckea, Westringia, Lepidozamia, Scaevola, Viola, Zoysia and Ajuga. Proposed planting is intended to
supplement the native vegetation that currently buffers the frontage and built form whilst providing a safe and private entry to the private residence which
is set in the dune.
4. Entry court which uses natural ‘Scala’ stone.
5. Proposed bin store that is mirrored by the bin store on neighbouring property. Structure is capped by a planter which hosts planting that is native and
complimentary to the architecture while providing sufficient screening to the adjoining residence. Species include Banksia, Westringia, Lepidozamia, Desert
Star, with Scaevola, Pandorea and Ipomea used as trailing plants and groundcovers.
9 11 11 6. Pedestrian entry gate.
7. Pool terrace and outdoor shower.
8. Proposed pool.
3 9. Pool boundary gardens which consists of natural forming, native boundary trees Native Gardenia and Water Gum which screen out the neighbouring
24 buildings. Mid story planting consists of tropical broadleaf speceis Licuala and Calathea while the understory is made up of Tractor Seat, Viola, native ferns,
19 Lepidozamia and Birds Nest Ferns. Planting is desgined to create a tropical retreat in the residence.
8 10. Outdoor dining and kitchen which has views into the boundary gardens. The natural forming trees are broken up by the midstory shrubs and trailing plants
from above.
11. Northern boundary gardens which continue down from the pool gardens. Boundary trees transition from the broadleaf, native, tropical trees to the more
10 robust, native coastal trees in the Banksia and Tuckeroo as they get closer to the beachfront. The understory stays consistent with lush native ferns, Viola
and Adjuga used in the understory with Lepidozamia, Birds Nest Ferns and Alocasia used in the mid story. Native climbers are used along the whole
boundary wall with species including Ficus, Pandorea, Lygodium and Hoya.

14. Southern side boundary garden which consists of clear trunk natural forming boundary trees including Gardenia, Tuckeroo and Banksia, with an understory
1 that consists of native ferns, Viola, Lepidozamia and Birds Nest Ferns. Native climbers are used along the whole boundary wall with species including Ficus,
6
18 Pandorea, Lygodium and Hoya.
15. Side access stairs.

16. Stone steppers in Zoysia lawn which step out from the bedrooms and create a transition to the rear lawn. Steppers are made up of natural stone pieces and
shaped organically to match the crazy pave used around the house.
17. Existing Banksia replaced to accommodate building works reinstated with like for like.
18. Eastern boundary gardens which are kept low to take in and appreciate the view, and create a seamless transition to the existing dune planting. Species
4 selected are all robust and native to the coastal environment. Selections include Banksia, Baeckea and Austromyrtus all as taller rear shrubs, Feature
Lepidozamia, Brids Nest Ferns and Grass Trees used throughout for interest and added structure, while lower groundcovers include Ficinia grass, Scaevola
and Baeckea groundcovers which will get volume and give some layering to the smaller Zoysia, Viola and Pigface which will sprawl through the gardens.
Planting has been designed to taper up from the groundcovers to the larger shrubs and reduce the visuals of the sloped garden landform.
19. Frontage balcony planter which provides significant greening and softening to the frontage through native shrubs, groundcovers and trailing plants. Larger
shrubs planted include Westringia, Banksia and Lepidozamia, and are grouped with Ipomea, Flat n Fruity, and Pandorea. Planting is structured in clumps but
3 let to grow and cover the front planter, with Monstera including variegated varieties added as a feature around the pool. Planting is build up and layered to
screen out the neighbours on the south western corner of the planter.
13 15 14 20. Feature corner planter which holds a Bankisa shrub that reads as part of the larger planter behind.
21. Outdoor roof terrace which takes in the scenic ocean views over the gardens in front of it.
5 14 22. Raised tub planter, which holds a feature and robust Banksia tree, that provides softening and some shade to the terrace. Understory of the planter consists
17 of Tractor Seat, Lepidozamia, Desert Star and Westringia, while Pandorea cascades over the edge.
23. Roof top hot tub.
24. Terrace side planters which are raised and host planting that tapers down from the western end to the eastern to provide buffering to the neighbours
either side. Planting includes larger Banksia, Westringia and Desert Star shrubs towards the back which provide the screening, before tapering down to
Lepidozamia, Isolepsis, Scaevola and Westringia flat and fruity. Pandorea and Ipomea are planted and provide trailing and screening to the terrace below.
25. Feature rooftop frontage planter which is a predominantly Zoysia groundcover with areas of sand used to represent the surrounding dunes and beaches.
Feature boulders are used for texture, while Ipomea is planted and allowed to cover the planter as it would the dune, then trail over the front edge to
provide a veil to the terrace below accentuating the view. Lepidozamia and Westringia Flat n Fruity are planted around the boulders to add variety but keep
02
the planter minimal. Planting is kept low to maximise the terrace views.
