Letter of Support - Calile Hotel Noosa
Attached to the e-mail PM Submission - Susan Ewington - 1320008.176.05.
The importance of having new and enhanced product, particularly accommodation in our region is recognised and welcomed by us. There has not been a new 5 star hotel developed in the region in over 3 decades, and the demand for a high quality hotel product to attract high yielding visitors is critical. The development will also appeal to the corporate traveller, another high-yielding market that typically visits mid-week. Tourism Noosa is excited by the opportunities that this project offers, providing a boutique hotel experience that is genuinely needed in our product offering. In addition to providing new product development, through the construction phase and beyond, this significant project will generate employment and ongoing economic activity for the Noosa business and tourism community. Tourism Noosa has personally met with the developers and has seen the vision for this property, and was genuinely pleased to see their passion to provide a tourism offering that engages with the community through meeting expectations in a regenerative manner. The development does not encroach into key environment or conservation zones, and the built form of the building importantly encompasses key Noosa design elements: including the utilisation of natural light and ventilation, separation of buildings to create less bulk and mass, the variation of construction materials and the inclusion of lightweight awning and articulated roof form. The development aligns with the Noosa Plan provisions, strategic aims and outcomes for a Resort use on site within the tourist accommodation zone. Tourism Noosa is pleased to support Calile Malouf Investments Pty Ltd in their application and wish them every success. Yours sincerely, Susan Ewington Acting CEO Tourism Noosa [email protected]
