Not properly made submission (late) Rod Jamieson MCU12/0184
Subject: cr bcs 1192 MCU12/0184 Notice of submission Rod Jamieson From: Rod Jamieson Date: 2013-09-26T10:16:15+00:00 To: Internet Mailbox Sunshine Coast Regional Council For all the reasons outlined by others around compatibility with Biosphere status, dangerous heavy traffic, impact on neighbours, property values and tourism, and the inevitable environmental damage, this proposal is utterly inappropriate. To highlight just one unavoidable risk: as recently as Feb 2012 Cooroy received 180mm of rain in 1 hour with several reports of 300 - 400mm during 24 hours. Composted chicken litter easily floats and the overland flow from rainfall events like this will exceed the capacity of any economically feasible retention system. Even with the best will in the world there is no way the applicants can prevent excessive levels of nitrogen and phosphorus entering the Mary River system and its tributaries. With due respect to the entrepreneurial spirit of the applicants, the only way to prevent the inevitable bio-catastrophe is to refuse the application.
