Hi Ben

I refer to Councils Environmental Health Officer Amanda Smith's  visit today in relation to the above.

I confirm that council has received a number of requests from the residential areas, that the operation of your business is causing sleep disturbance at night time.
Ms Smith has confirmed to me that the source of the intrusive noise is from your generators which operate 24/7.

I advise that under the Act, noise from your regulated device (electrical generator) is not to be audible to residential areas between the hours of  7pm to 7am on a business day or Saturday and 7pm to 8am - on any other day  (see fact sheet attached).

To comply with the Act and provide relief for the neighbourhood, I request that you take immediate action to reduce or eliminate noise emissions from the generator equipment.  Ms Smith has advised that you will be undertaking remedial actions over the next 24 hrs and that a follow-up visit will be conducted on Friday afternoon at 3 pm to confirm the effectiveness of your actions.

I  strongly recommend that you employ the services of a registered professional acoustic consultant to make effective modifications to your equipment, which could include acoustic treatment and/or relocation of the noise source.

Please confirm in writing what actions you will undertake to remedy the situation and eliminate the noise during the prescribed hours by COB Friday 13 June 2014.
