BMC Traffic Review as submitted with Further Advice response
13 August 2026 BMC27010: 45 Maple Street, Cooroy The results of the swept path assessments are provided at Attachment B to this advice and demonstrate there is a suitable location prior to entering the shared driveway from both directions, where B85/B99 vehicles can wait and allow a vehicle to pass. The following are recommended to manage the two way use of the single lane Shared Driveway section: Painting of Hold Lines on the pavement to indicate to drivers where they are required to Give Way. Either signage or line marking to advise drivers of the Give Way requirement, and the vehicles they are to Give Way to. Specifically: - Entering Traffic: Give Way to vehicles already in the Shared Driveway section. - Exiting Traffic: Give Way to entering traffic and vehicles already in the Shared Driveway section. Installation of convex mirrors on the outside of corners, as shown, to assist in observation of vehicles within the Shared Driveway. The area of one way use of the shared driveway is set back well within the site, such that queuing on the external road network is not anticipated. As it will be primarily residents on the driveway (familiar drivers), with an expected low traffic volume, and noting that vehicles will be travelling at low speeds, the above is expected to appropriately manage the two way use of the shared driveway. Note: This advice is limited to the design elements specifically noted above and this letter does not constitute or imply a full traffic engineering review of the proposed development. I trust that the above is clear and assists Council with their review. Should you have any questions, please feel free to call to discuss. Yours sincerely, Beth Meehan Traffic Engineer BE(Civil)(Hons), RPEQ # 8373, FTPA Page 2 of 9
