If any other threatened fauna species are impacted during construction, work will cease in
the immediate vicinity of the sighting until they have moved off or a suitably qualified Fauna
Spotter-catcher called in to remove them.
The Fauna Spotter-catcher will maintain records of all fauna relocated (Appendix C) or
injured (Appendix D) and report to the Site Supervisor.
Prior to clearing and concurrent with the relocation of fauna, all large woody debris and
rocks should be removed and relocated into surrounding natural areas.
Habitat Erosion and sediment control:
Management
Ensure works do not concentrate flows into EVNT species habitat. Site Foreman As appropriate
Actions
Ensure drainage control, erosion control and sediment control is implemented to during
reduce impacts such as leaf litter and soil loss, siltation and water quality degradation. construction
Pest and weed management
Remove environmental weeds during vegetation clearing phase.
Clearing/ Machinery hygiene / operation Site Foreman As appropriate
Construction during clearing
Equipment, including tracks and buckets, should be cleaned prior to arrival on site to
prevent transfer of fungal pathogens that can impact on frog populations and lead to
spread of undesirable weeds.
During periods of wet weather site personnel to check under materials and equipment
each morning before using to ensure EVNT species are not taking refuge under these
items.
Contractors/machinery operators should determine suitable locations for dispersal of
material (vegetation, soil, silt etc.) removed from EVNT species habitat areas taking into
account the need for the Fauna Spotter-catcher to access fauna found alive, injured or
deceased in such material.
Reduce habitat loss/damage:
Disperse materials (e.g. excavated vegetation, soil, etc) wherever possible to allow fauna
to escape and Fauna Spotter-catcher to inspect. Following a reasonable amount of time
after which no fauna is found, material can be stockpiled or removed from site.
EVNT species EVNT species breeding habitat assessments following completion of clearing / reprofiling during
breeding habitat wet conditions Site ecologist / Throughout the
assessments
onsite following The Ecologist/Fauna Spotter catcher is to attend the site if there is more than 50mm of Fauna Spotter- duration of
rain in the preceding 24 hour period to make determinations regarding breeding activity of catcher clearing and
clearing &
EVNT species and the requirement for a Spotter catcher to attend or for works to be reprofiling works.
reprofiling works
suspended in that area.
