Bushfire Hazard Assessment & Management Plan v2 NCES REF: J001061 Lot 7 on RP216403, Lot 394 on M371117, and Lot 650 on M37380 – 48-59 Kabi Road, Cootharaba VHC 43.6 is attributed a potential combined surface fuel load of 0t/ha and total fuel load of 0t/ha, and is classified as Prone Type 3 (QFES, 2019). Plate 12 depicts typical conditions within VHC 43.6. Plate 12 – Characteristic conditions within VHC 43.6 3.3 Potential Bushfire Intensity classes Table 1 details the Potential Bushfire Intensity classes and their corresponding potential fire-line intensity (KW/m) values as prescribed within Leonard et. al. 2017. Table 1: Potential Bushfire Intensity classes 3.4 Bushfire Hazard Sub-Units A sub-unit level Local Hazard Area Map has been prepared; Plan No. BF02 – Sub-Units and identifies the site scale Potential Bushfire Intensity classes across the site. The sub-unit level Local Hazard Area Map identifies that High and Medium Potential Bushfire Intensity Areas associated with the VHC 8.1, VHC 9.1, VHC 36.1 are located within the north-western, southern, and eastern extents of the assessment area. Note, Sub Unit’s 3-5 comprise either VHC 2.1 – Complex to simple, semi-deciduous mesophyll to notophyll vine forest (mature fuel loads assumed), VHC 39.2 – Low to moderate tree cover in built- up areas, or VHC 43.6 Water bodies or very low vegetation cover. VHC 2.1, VHC 39.2, and VHC 40.4 are classified as Prone Type 3 – Low hazard. As per Section 7.5.2, 7.6 & Figure 14 of Bushfire Resilient Communities 2019, Prone Type 3 VHC’s are not considered bushfire prone VHC’s. Therefore, Sub Unit’s 3-5 were mapped as Low Potential Bushfire Intensity classes on BF02. 3.5 Overall Local Hazard Map An overall Local Hazard Map has been prepared; Plan No. BF03 – Local Hazard Map and identifies the Potential Bushfire Intensity classes across the site as well as associated 100m wide Potential Impact Buffer areas. High and Medium Potential Bushfire Intensity Areas are located within the north- western, southern, and eastern extents of the assessment area with their asscoiated 100m wide Potential Impact Buffer extending towards the central site extent. The Local Hazard Map presented in Plan No. BF03 is to supersede the SPP broadscale mapping attributed to the site and should be used to guide the formulation of appropriate site-based bushfire management measures for the proposal. © 2023 16
