2.1 Site Visits
I carried out an initial un-accompanied site visit on April 5th 2018.At the time of inspection the
weather was clear with good visibility.
The surveyed position of the tree displayed in the Layout Plan is accurate as far as my site
observations found.
I have inspected the tree from ground level without access to the canopy. The inspection was
a Level 2 Basic Assessment (as per International Society of Arboriculture Guidelines). All
measurements are approximate.

3. Inspection Results -
3.1 Tree Species: Poinciana - Delonix regia
The Poinciana Tree currently shows good health and vigour and has grown within this road
verge over the past 15 years.
Noosa Eumundi Road/parking bays are positioned on the trees north side several meters
from the tree base. The Dimensions and Proposed Modification plan (Page 6) show the
driveway entry into the proposed service station on the west side of the tree to be outside or
on the edge of the canopy dripline. A Footpath is proposed to be realigned on the south side
of the tree, the existing section of footpath will remain in situ and the new footpath will adjoin
the existing footpath outside of the trees SRZ (structural root zone). New kerb and
channeling is proposed on the north side of the tree approximately 2 meters from the tree
base in the same alignment as the current Kerb and chanelling. Two power poles are
currently positioned within the trees eastern and north western SRZ with over head power
lines several meters above the tree canopy.
The current health and vigour of the tree is good even with the pathway, parking bays/kerb in
situ. This is due to the fact the tree has grown since this infrastructure/hard facing was
installed and its SRZ will be under the pathway and up to/against the kerbing. There is
currently sufficient room for the root zone to extend laterally within the road reserve.
Overall there is no intrusion into the structural root zone (srz) shown as per the attached
Layout Plan. The exception being the existing Kerb and existing pathway. The new Kerb is
shown to remain within this alignment and the current footpath to remain in situ. No new
structures will be placed within the trees SRZ which means the layout is in accordance to
Australian Standard 4790 Protection of Trees on Development Sites 2009.
