SERVICES & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 9 FEBRUARY 2021
Actual revenue year to date has exceeded budget due to conservative assumptions
included in the 2020/21 holiday park budget and uncertainty related to the extended
closure impacts of Covid-19.
Border closures, spurred growth in the caravanning and camping industry and a focus on
domestic travel have encouraged Queensland tourists to holiday within the state and
yielded increased occupancy levels.
Actual year to date operating expenses are higher than expected due to the increased
revenue achieved, Covid-19 compliance and safety costs and variable operating costs.

response to uncertainty around operating and maintenance costs of the park’s new
infrastructure.
2. Covid-19 Reopening and Operational Plans
Extensive consultation was undertaken with park managers and Council’s Covid-19 Taskforce to
develop reopening and operational plans for all holiday parks following closure from March 2020
to June 2020. Risk registers were prepared for each site with a suite of control measures
implemented to ensure minimised risk of Covid-19 transmission.
Covid-safe operation of the parks continues to remain a focus in line with Council’s commitment
and to ensuring that the operational, guest and staff environment at each park is Covid-safe. All
reasonable control measures are actioned and implemented with adherence and compliance with
Queensland Health directives.
