Attachment 1 - Noise Report ANV
Attached to the e-mail Response to Submissions, Accoustic Report, Amended Proposal Plans, Ext to Decision Period - MCU17/0073.
Thus the noise criteria for staff and student noise radiating from the building do not apply when it is used for
educational purposes.
The Environmental Protection (Noise) Policy sets acoustic quality objectives for residential and other uses.
The external acoustic objective for a dwelling is 50dB(A) for day and evening periods. These can be used to
set upper limits for plant noise criteria developed using the Environmental Protection Act.
The church air conditioning plant is only expected to operate during the day and evening periods. Given the
plant may be used on weekdays and weekends, the noise assessment is based on the criteria that apply
during this period.
Using the measured rating background levels, the project criteria are presented in Table 2.

Noise criteria for people on the Friendship Terrace can be assessed using the EPAct Section 440W approach.
Given the noise is not continuously present the levels should also be compared against the existing ambient
levels. Proposed criteria are presented in Table 3.
