29.06.20 NON-STANDARD VEHICLE CROSSOVER APPLICATION. To whom it may concern, I am applying for a non-standard crossover approval for 3 Crusoe Court, Castaways Beach. The subject site has an approved (RAB16/0138) Carport structure built to boundary. The current crossover unfortunately does not allow for proper access and as a result the crossover we now sort requires to be 6m in width at the kerb and channel location and then flow through to the existing Carport structure at 6m. wide (Ref part site plan / proposed cross over for extent and location). Addition to this approval located within the proposed cross over there is an existing stormwater collection channel and S.W pit. To achieve practical and safe vehicle access we as ask council to consider the ramping of the existing collection channel with a WG20 stormwater grated trafficable ramp or similar (ref details attached to application). This I believe is a council supported solution for this type of scenario? The proposed solution is vehicle accessible and has been engineered accordingly, it allows for bicycle access. This solution is designed to allow for the stormwater collection channel to remain in functional. In addition, I note to council there is a secondary collection channel and stormwater pit located approx. 30m downstream along the same side of the Court as a secondary collection point. It should be noted also Crusoe Court is finished in a permeable paved surface which independently collects a good deal of its own rainwater run off without having to rely completely on the traditional kerb and channel stormwater road solution. In conclusion we seek an approval based on the above-mentioned. This will allow safe entry and exiting from our Car Port structure which is built to boundary. It will also negate the current scenario of our vehicles having to mount the collection channel on entry and exiting which puts demand and within time potential damage to the structure.
