EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This report presents the proposed 2014/15 Noosa Council budget for consideration.

RECOMMENDATION
That Council note the report by the Manager Financial Services to the Special Budget Meeting
dated 18 June 2014 providing the proposed 2014/15 budget for consideration by Council.



REPORT
Section 107A of the Local Government Act 2009 requires the Mayor to provide a copy of the
proposed budget to Councillors at least 2 weeks before it is to consider adopting the budget. In
accordance with this requirement, copies of the proposed budget were distributed to Councillors
on 4 June 2014.

The documents for consideration by Council include:

                         Operational Plan
                         Revenue Policy;
                         Revenue Statement;
                         Register of Cost Recovery Fees and Commercial Charges
                         Investment Policy;
                         Debt Policy; and
                         Budget, including:
                          o     Financial Statements
                          o     Long Term Financial Forecast;
                          o     Rates and Charges Comparison;
                          o     Relevant Measures of Financial Sustainability; and
                          o     Capital Works Program


Previous Council Consideration

Nil.

Finance & Risk

Downside financial risks have been considered in the preparation of the 2014/15 budget,
including recent Federal Government budget decisions regarding financial assistance grant
levels and fuel excise changes.
