3. The Service to be Provided
Noosa Shire Council will, in consultation with the Hastings Street Association Inc., provide
additional maintenance of the Hastings Street precinct above the standard Council level including
but not limited to, maintenance of the timber seating and bollards, increased sweeping of car parks,
additional park maintenance and an ongoing tree replacement program.

4. The Estimated Cost of Implementing the Overall Plan
It is estimated that the special rate will raise a total of $333,000 in the 2014/15 financial year.
For the 2014/15 financial year, Council will levy an annual special rate of point zero nine six (0.096)
cents in the dollar on the rateable value of each parcel of land (including strata titled units) within
the benefited area delineated on map 5A and an annual special rate of point zero three one (0.031)
cents in the dollar on the rateable value of each parcel of the land (including strata titled units) that
gains benefit from tourist visitation within the benefited areas delineated on map 5B, 5C and 5D for
the purpose of defraying costs of increased levels of maintenance in the Hastings Street precinct.
5. Estimated Time for Implementing the Overall Plan
The Overall Plan provides for an increased level of maintenance in the Hastings Street precinct for
the 2014/15 financial year.
