GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 24 OCTOBER 2022
water quality and ecological restoration. It is intended that an exchange of letters will occur outlining
an intention to continue to work with and collaborate with TNC on these matters.
Continuation of Partnership
The existing Funding and Alliance Agreement was executed in July 2019 and anticipated a 3-year
span, with final report generated in September 2022. TNC will continue to have a strong presence
in Noosa in order to monitor and evaluate the oyster restoration project as per requirements of
permits. There are many opportunities for ongoing collaborate work to continue with TNC for the
river and catchment related projects. This includes for seagrass conservation, sediment monitoring
and assessments, water quality monitoring and river restoration. It is not intended at this point to
extend or develop a new alliance agreement with TNC. Should Council wish to continue to benefit
from the significant expertise and innovation that TNC has, separate arrangements would need to
be considered.
