Attachment 2—Advice to the applicant
General advice
1. Terms and phrases used in this document are defined in the Planning Act 2016 its
regulation or the State Development Assessment Provisions (SDAP) v2.6. If a word
remains undefined it has its ordinary meaning.
Stormwater condition
2. The concurrence agency conditions include a requirement for the Applicant to provide
RPEQ certification to the District Director (North Coast District) within the Department of
Transport and Main Roads addressing stormwater drainage impacts from the development
to the state-controlled road (Cooroy Connection Road).
Please ensure that any submission is addressed to the District Director (North Coast
District) within the Department of Transport and Main Roads is sent to
[email protected] and contains sufficient supporting hydraulic
calculations/documentation to address stormwater management relative to the state-
controlled road.
For any queries or further information about this matter, please contact the Department of
Transport and Main Roads’ Maroochydore Office via email to
[email protected] and quote 'TMR20-030017'.
Roadworks in a state-controlled road
3. It is noted in the submitted stormwater report that road works, specifically the installation of
a 450mm diameter stormwater pipe, is proposed within the state-controlled road corridor.
Under Section 33 of the Transport Infrastructure Act 1994, written approval is required
from the Department of Transport and Main Roads to carry out road works on a state-
controlled road. Road works includes the installation of stormwater related infrastructure.
This approval must be obtained prior to commencing any works on the state-controlled
road reserve. The approval process takes time and will require the approval of engineering
designs of the proposed works, certified by a Registered Professional Engineer of
Queensland (RPEQ).
It is highly recommended that you contact the Department of Transport and Main Roads’
as soon as possible to ensure that gaining approval does not delay construction.
