Dear Sir/Madam, As a resident of Serenity Close, Noosa Heads, I wish to comment on some aspects of the development application 132008.176.05 for a hotel/resort in this street. Specifically, I have concerns relating to vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Vehicular traffic * The traffic studies restricted their impact analyses to three roundabouts (Noosa Drive/Coral Tree Avenue; Noosa Drive/Grant Street/Sunshine Beach Road; and Grant Street/Banksia Avenue), and came to conclusions based solely on the operation of those roundabouts. The analyses do not appear to have taken the restricted width of Grant Street into account, and the impact of significantly increased traffic volumes along Grant Street. Further, there is no consideration of traffic movements in Katharina Street, although it is the shortest route to the Hastings Street precinct and Noosa Main Beach from Serenity Close. * There is inadequate consideration of the likely increased vehicle volumes in Serenity Close. Serenity Close parking * Consideration needs to be given to appropriate means to allow for Serenity Close residents and their visitors to have priority for parking in the street. Pedestrian traffic * Consideration needs to be given to a requirement for continuous footpaths to be built in both Grant Street and Katharina Street, given that there is likely to be a significant increase in pedestrian traffic to both Noosa Junction and to Hastings Street/Main Beach. Yours sincerely, Ian Sare (9/12-14 Serenity Close, Noosa Heads) Email: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Mob: 0407 569 273
