Response to Information Request – Expansion of Noosa Waste Disposal & Recycling Facility at 561
Eumundi Noosa Road, Doonan, described as Lot 77 on SP298776

The purpose of this letter is to provide further information that was requested by Council on 23 November
2023. The applicant has considered the request and provides the following information.

The response to the information request includes the following:

     •   Attachment 1 – Proposal Plans, including Current Site Layout Plan, Proposed Site Layout Plan and
         Proposed Offset Planting Plan
     •   Attachment 2 – A copy of the existing Environmental Authority (EPPR01855314)
     •   Attachment 3 – Copy of Waste Volumes; and
     •   Attachment 4 – Response by Native Foresters to the environmental issues:
            o Attachment 4A – Response to environmental issues
            o Attachment 4B – Updated Flora and Fauna Assessment – NLRRC Northern Section – Revision
               5; and
            o Attachment 4C - Updated MSES/MNES Assessment – Noosa Landfill RRC – Revision 3.

The new plan shows the existing onsite facilities and the proposed expansion to the Resource Recovery Area
(RRA), including the relocated High Efficiency Sediment (HES) Basin to towards the northeast, which is to
include the existing Bio Basin, which are located about 5m from the bushland. Further, shows an area of the
site towards the south and southeast (hatched green) that is to be rehabilitated to provide for an
environmental offset, which is to be protected by an environmental covenant (refer Attachment 1).

It should also be noted that under the current development approval (2005/638) there is a narrow piece of
land to the south that protrudes from the main waste and recycling facility that extends towards the northeast
(refer Figure 1). This land has an area of about 1.26 ha, which has been partly cleared for the existing facility;
however, is not presently used and not intended to be used. Consequently, when considering the overall area
