MCU14/0106 Submission PM Object Sue & Jeff Scougall
Subject: Noosa Civic From: Sue and Jeff Date: 2015-07-06T23:16:58+00:00 To: Mailbox Council Mail Kerri Coyle Planning and Environment Manager Noosa Council As we purchased our property on Noosa Hill specifically to be 'within walking distance to everything' and so reduce our use of the car, we are very disappointed in the development of Noosa Civic and the demise of The Junction. Almost nobody can walk to Noosa Civic as there is almost no residential development nearby, and as with most new shopping/business developments it is designed for drivers of cars, not pedestrians. We now have to drive for 20 minutes to get to our bank or other facilities such as Centrelink. From our point of view, further development of The Junction, a pre-existing 'hub', would have been preferable. Noosa is, by Council design, a small town with a population cap to ensure it stays that way, but now has multiple widespread shopping precincts with the most remote and unwieldy being Noosa Civic. Further development of Civic, especially as it is not even under one air conditioned roof for summer comfort, is ridiculous, in our humble opinion. Sue Scougall 9 Attunga Heights Noosa Heads
