Budget Actuals
With three months of the 2015/16 financial year complete, the Libraries team budget is $7,491
below the estimated budget position with revenue 15.1% below projections and expenditure 1.1%
less than estimated.
Anticipated revenue is below expected targets as the quarterly payment for the collections grant
was not received by the end of the September as per usual. However general revenue in
Libraries is $8,181 (83%) above estimated targets through increased fee-based programming to
subsidise costs and a focus on recovering charges for lost and damaged library items.
The overspend in employee benefits is primarily due to:
Two staff taking parental leave;
Back pay relating to the recent pay increase; and
Establishment positions being filled until the completion of phase two of the service review.
The underspend in expenditure is primarily due to:
Grant funding having been received but not yet expended;
Orders placed in collections but items not yet received; and
Building and facilities maintenance work commenced but not completed.
