Dear Councillor Jamieson,

Re: Intensive Poultry Farm development application, proposed for 136 Top Forestry Road, Ridgewood, near Cooroy.

I am emailing you on behalf of two neighbours who live less than one kilometre from the proposed chicken farm site. These women are in their sixties and seventies, have lived there many years and their blocks of land are their only assets. One of them has been told it will be difficult to get a good price for her block if the proposal goes ahead. Who wants to live next to a chicken farm?

So as well as having to suffer ill health and discomfort in their retirement, from the noise, smell, dust and dangerous traffic, the value of their land will be greatly reduced. If this proposal goes ahead, their economic situation will become quite impossible, if they have to leave their land.

I hope you will keep these women in mind and vote to uphold the planners' recommendation.

Many thanks.

Sincerely,

Julia Walkden
