         instance.
        Track identification was undertaken early the following morning with the sun behind the
         observer - when tracks are fresh, before the sand has dried and before the wind has blurred
         the imprint.
        Identification of footprints also took into account the gait, including the position of the front
         feet relative to the back feet and the locomotion type (quadrupedal, bipedal; hop, bound or
         stride).
        Measurements were taken with a tape measure or ruler and recorded to the nearest
         millimetre.
        All tracks were photographed.

     Figure 4 depicts the setup of the sand plots with the infrared camera focused at this area.
     Generic fine grain paver sand was used for the sand plots.

Nocturnal bird
        Relevant bird species were noted at this time, using call back play on a phone app and
         connected amplifier. Any responding calls were noted and recorded using the hand held
         Zoom® recorder if possible.
