2.3      Planning Scheme Review
The Noosa Plan 2006 has a horizon year of 2015. While it has been amended a few times it is due
for comprehensive review and replacement. The 2006 plan was prepared under the Integrated
Planning Act. That act was replaced by the Sustainable Planning Act 2009. New legislation
(Planning Act 2016) was assented to in May 2016.

Council has commenced work on a new Planning Scheme for Noosa Shire. This planning study is
intended to assist Council when considering development potential in unsewered areas.
