K - Preliminary Arborist Report (29.08.2019)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
From our assessment we believe the significant subject trees of critical interest can be
retained.
The retention of the subject trees and immediate forming vegetation will allow for the
integration of public open space with connection to the edge of the development site.
The retention of the subject trees’ and immediate forming vegetation will enhance the
landscape amenity, provide screenage, shade casting to the proposed car park and open
space. Generally, the foreseen vegetation relationship with the built space will reflect the
adjacent precinct density and landscape design outcomes to aligned with the elected sub-
tropical design as outlined with ‘Probable Solutions of the Landscaping Code’.
With consideration of the recommendation from the Planning and Environment Court
Judgement dated 15th July 2014 by His Honour Judge Rackermann, Noosa Council Planning
Polices and the guidelines within AS4970-2009, it would be my recommendation that an
Arboricultural Impact Assessment (AIA) be commissioned prior to commencement of works
and as a conditional requirement of development consent.
