Re: MCU16/0090

To whom it may concern,

This letter is to support the proposed development at Sunshine Butterflies on McKinnon Drive, Cooroibah. We are the immediate neighbours living next to Leanne, Damien and young Curtis.

Over the past 18 months my husband and I have been so impressed by seeing Leanne and Damien's initial plans and dream for the property - finally coming into fruition. They have both worked so hard and have demonstrated their dedication to the many families who have disabled children in our Sunshine Coast region. The combination of their work ethic and accumulated skills, their passion for making a positive influence in these kids lives, their management structure and solid foundational values, are the basis of why this organisation's proposed development project will have long standing ongoing prospects for years to come.

Leanne and Damien are very courteous in ensuring that they do not offend or impose on their neighbours when they conduct they're annual fundraising events. We have attended their Christmas functions and are always awestruck by their quality of professionalism and organisation for each event, along with their passionate staff, and the vast number of families that this organisation is reaching out to.

Our family share the driveway with S.Bflies and would absolutely support the suggestion to develop a turning lane into the property, and the reduction of the speed limit on that stretch of road as it is very dangerou. Both my husband and I have already experienced numerous near-misses ourselves, and we've always said that we would hate something serious to happen before something gets done, as the safety of our disabled community should be paramount. However as a not-for-profit organisation who rely on donations to support those underprivileged members in our community, they carry the burden we should all be contributing to, and we are amongst many that believe this should be a financial burden that should not be worn on the shoulders of Leanne and Damien. During the period that we have lived here, there have been two other wholesale nurseries owned by previous businesses using the driveway, and traffic turning into our properties has always been an issue.

We offer S.Bflies our full support and ask that you don't hesitate to contact us directly if we could be of further assistance in the approval if this proposed development.
