GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 1 JUNE 2015
Assessment
Applications were assessed and scored in accordance with the following set RADF assessment
criteria:
1. The project will develop the paid artist’s professional life
2. The project will benefit the community, both directly and indirectly
3. The project is well planned and achievable
4. The project will increase the sustainably of quality and diverse creative communities
In accordance with RADF Guidelines, Committee members were required to declare any conflicts
of interest and once declared the Committee member was then not involved in related
deliberations. Annette Hughes declared a material interest in the Datson + Hughes Album
Recording project, Judy Barrass declared her involvement in the Noosa Paper and Book Group
for an art development workshop, and Cr Frank Wilkie declared his membership on the Noosa
Arts Theatre Management Committee.
Assessment was a two stage process. First individual RADF Committee members assessed
applications, and then the whole Committee discussed outcomes, allocated funds to successful
applicants and provided final comments on all submissions.
The RADF Committee recommended eight applications totalling $25,551 for funding. The
projects recommended for funding are excellent in quality and diversity, and will employ quality
artists and arts workers who will engage in valuable arts and cultural activities across the region.
In addition to the RADF Committee’s recommendations, staff are recommending $7,500 be
allocated to the artists of Boreen Point to allow them to create and coordinate arts activities on
the shores of Lake Cootharaba as part of this year’s Floating Land.
Finally as per the RADF Committee’s recommendation, it is proposed that unspent funds from
this financial year be carried over and used to employ specialist presenters from organisations
such as the Flying Arts School and Arts Law to run developmental workshops in the next
financial year to build the skills of our local creative community.
