MCU25/0118 - APPLICATION FOR MATERIAL CHANGE OF USE FOR MULITIPLE DWELLING - AFFORDABLE RENTAL PREMISES (25 x SMALL DWELLINGS) AT 64 LAKE MACDONALD DRIVE, COOROY · ATTACHMENT 2 - (MCU25 0118) - PLANNING OFFICERS REPORT
PLANNING & ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE MEETING REPORT 10 FEBRUARY 2026
The development directly responds to Council’s adopted Noosa Housing Strategy 2022, which
identifies the need to utilise Council land to address critical housing shortages, including at this
site. Assessment found the proposal consistent with the Strategic Framework and overall intent of
the Noosa Plan 2020. Minor variations relating to height, parking and setbacks do not result in
unreasonable impacts.
The project will provide housing for families, young people and seniors listed on the Queensland
Social Housing Register, delivering significant community benefit and supporting both Council and
State housing priorities.
Accordingly, the development is recommended for approval subject to reasonable and relevant
conditions.
The report is provided in accordance with Section 63(5) of the Planning Act 2016.
