LDMG Operational Decision                               The LDMG Chair and LDC are authorised to make initial
                                                        operational response coordination decisions on behalf of the

- Making Capability
                                                        full LDMG to initiate the disaster management arrangements
                                                        and whilst acting in accordance with LDMG approved plans and
                                                        procedures. In the absence of the LDMG Chair, the Deputy Chair
                                                        has clear authority to make initial operational response decisions.

                                                        The Chair and LDC have an exclusively operational response
                                                        coordination function, which will not, at any time, replace the
                                                        policy decision-making role of the core LDMG members.
