Please take note that I do not support this application based on the following as listed
below.
I have been a long time resident of the wonderful Noosa Hinterland and chose to bring
up my family in this area to be free of "urbanization" and live the peaceful country life.
I have noticed some very ugly NBN Towers being installed in the Noosa Heads region
and detest the thought of having one installed in our much loved hinterland region.
We often bushwalk and cycle the Noosa Trail Network in this area and often access the
Woondum National Park from Tablelands Road. There is an existing Telstra Tower close
to the proposed site for this new NBN Tower. However the existing Tower has been built
against a ridge and not on it. The tower is well below the surrounding trees. And while
it is an eyesore it is way better than the proposed new Tower.
The NBN Tower they want to install at 244 Tablelands Road will be seen from many
places coming up and down the road but will be even worse if viewed from the Eastern
Trails of the Noosa Trail Network. It will also have a huge impact to the views from
neighboring properties. I read the Noosa Plan section on telecommunication towers and
find it hard to even think you would consider this new tower. As it does not comply with
the policies of not being a visual impact and being built on a ridgeline above the trees
tops with a fair amount of clearing.
I also think it is about time Council takes into the account that studies of the magnetic
radiation from these towers has not been proved 100% to cause no harm to our health.
Even the World Health Organisation states that studies are inconclusive.
Please do not approve this application.
