Attachment 2 - Local Heritage Advice - 3 Grady Street, Kin Kin
Hi Gina, Patrick passed on your details so we could get in touch regarding a proposed development involving a dwelling house, secondary dwelling and shed at 3 Grady Street, Kin Kin. The applicant is proposing to establish a dwelling house use, which includes building work to the existing church building, which is mapped as local heritage. A copy of the proposal plans is attached for your reference. We are seeking advice in relation to the relevant outcomes of the Heritage Overlay Code, particularly regarding any proposed changes to the façade of the existing building. The proposal intends to retain the church façade facing 50 Main Street, Kin Kin (Lot 214 SP143420), which represents the primary public viewpoint and the building’s former point of entry. Could you please review the plans and advise whether this approach is consistent with the expectations and requirements for a local heritage place? Additionally, could you please confirm whether the heritage values attributed to the existing church are primarily associated with its presentation and historical orientation toward 50 Main Street, despite the property frontage being from Grady Street? Any assistance or preliminary feedback you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
