SERVICES & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 10 DECEMBER 2019
2. Noosa River Holiday Park - Areas of Electricity Consumption
In 2018, Council installed five metered powerheads at powered caravan sites to gain a better
understanding of energy consumption. Park management undertook daily reading of the meters
over a one year period providing electricity consumption data for different occupancy periods.
Analysis of daily electricity consumption data obtained from the metered powerheads indicates
approximately 63%, or $40,000 of the site’s entire electricity cost can be attributed to electricity
consumption at powered caravan and camping sites. The remainder of NRHP’s electricity
consumption occurs through the reception area, office, camp kitchen, laundry, manager’s
residence and external lighting e.g. streetlights. NRHP areas of electricity consumption are
shown in Figure 2 below.

3. Electricity Consumption Comparison
Analysis of daily electricity consumption data obtained from the metered powerheads indicates
NRHP customers typically use between 8kWh and 37kWh of electricity per day. Contrastingly, an
average two person household uses 12.6kW/h per day. NRHP daily electricity consumption
versus average daily electricity consumption for a two person household is highlighted in Figure 3
below.
