Noosa River DMP V1
Noosa River Caravan Park, Heritage Impact Statement (HIS) The Noosa River Caravan Park at Munna Point is listed on the Queensland Heritage Register. This site already has existing approvals for dredging and beach re-nourishment that were obtained during Munna Point Groyne works. The closest nourishment works are 2m seaward of an existing building and 3m seaward of camp sites (Figure 12); however, an existing geotextile container retaining wall separates the nourishment area and caravan park at this location. Only the beach area, seaward of the heritage place will be impacted by the dredging and nourishment works. The dredging and nourishment work at this location will increase beach width and reduce the impact of erosion, protecting the caravan and tent sites. The works are considered to have no adverse impact on the heritage site and will provide benefit in maintaining an erosion buffer. Beach access can remain open to the public while nourishment works are undertaken. Figure 12. Location of works adjacent Noosa River Caravan Park 23
