The majority of the findings and outcomes of the Biodiversity Assessment Report are based on desktop
information. Consequently the study contains limitations that are inherent with desktop data sources.
This includes inaccuracies at finer mapping scales and the potential misalignment with actual on the
ground conditions.
The intent of the study is to provide a broad overview of biodiversity values and threats across the Noosa
and should not be interpreted as an exhausted detailed description. It is therefore recommended that
ground-truthing assessments are conducted to confirm the presence or absence of biodiversity values,
especially those that are represented spatially. The outcomes and results of the Biodiversity Assessment
Report should not take priority over the findings from these field validation surveys.
