To Noosa Council
Attached to the e-mail PM Submission - D Saunders - MCU21/0087.
To: Noosa Council Reference proposed Development Permit for Material Change of use Short Term Accommodation. Lot 49 RP126837. 51 Tingira Crescent Sunrise Beach. Application reference: MCU21/0087. Dear Council. Can you explain to the long term residents of Noosa Shire why you seem to be hell bent on approving every application made to you by people to have their investment properties turned into money making STAs? Is it because of more money the Council can make from these investors or what? It is obvious you have completely ignored the many negative letters that have been sent to you regarding this property being offered as an STA and for those people who push to have more and more STAs in Noosa Shire and their arguments for keep stating that it is for “elderly Mum and Dad investors who will be living upstairs and only letting out the bedroom downstairs” is absolute BS as all the latest applications I have seen are for stand alone large homes that used to be family homes. It is about time that Noosa Council and its’ staff begin to realise that the residents of Sunrise and Sunshine Beach and other Eastern Beach areas have had enough of the proliferation of short term accommodation being approved by you. Especially with the huge shortage of good rental accommodation in these areas as out of town investors buy up everything the can and then apply to turn them into STAs just to make more money. If this application goes ahead, then us residents who live close by the house in question (we live right beside it) demand that your proposals of some time back are implemented: that is a notice is place by the STA properties giving the Manager’s contact details including a phone contact number, and proof that these Managers are living within a 20 minute radius so that they are readily available to act on any complaints made by permanent residents in the area at any time of the day or night. The property in question has 4 bedrooms plus utility rooms so can accommodate many people at the same time but only two cars in the garage and one on the driveway. If we have problems with this property during Schoolies, (or any other time) accommodating lots of young people who decide to party until early hours of the morning then be prepared for a multitude of complaints. Start considering the long term permanent residents in the area and not just the wealthy out of towners wanting to make more and more money at our expense. Thankyou D. Saunders 20 Sobraon Street, Sunrise Beach.
