Subject: Letter regarding Application for planning Callie Hotel 132008.176.05 From: Judy Vulker Date: 2023-08-04T05:28:55+00:00 To: Mailbox Council Mail CAUTION: This email originated outside of Council. Do not open links or attachments if the email is unexpected or unusual. Dear Council Callie Hotel application number 132008.176.05 I own and live adjacent to the proposed Hotel in Serenity Close. I have read the documentation provided online by Council including the traffic report. Traffic: The traffic report is alarming as it was conducted in July 22. If the report was completed in January 23, it would have a very different result. I believe the traffic report should provide for the worst possible scenario. From December 25 to end of January it is nearly impossible to consider taking your car out during the day and early evening as the Grant Street round about is so difficult to get on to Noosa Drive/ Sunshine Beach Rd. I believe the only plausible way to deal with the traffic is to open up Banksia Ave and on to Coral Sea to divert traffic turning right thorough the Coral Sea roundabout. Traffic to the hotel could also enter this way.. We need this to happen now. Katharina Street: Driving in or out of Katharina street is a nightmare as there is nowhere for a car to pull in with cars parked both sides of the street, only one car can pass at any one time. Please ensure parking spots are marked out and include yellow lines for ‘break stops’ so cars can pull in to avoid another car. This is urgent and needs to be addressed now. Parking: Please ensure no cars can be parked along the Calile Hotel side of Serenity Close. It would be too difficult to park cars there with traffic from the developments having easy access to get out (particularly in case of fire). Sewerage: There is often a terrible smell from the Unity Water works at North Banksia Ave. I think this has to be addressed asap. People wont stay at the hotel with that smell. Vegetation: The renderings, particularly the west side rendering does not show containment of the hotel, rather swathes of lawn. I would prefer to see bushland for our wildlife. Less big concrete buildings and more vegetation viewed from the road. Thank you for the opportunity to comment. Yours sincerely Judy Vulker Apartment 28, 12-14 Serenity Close, Noosa Heads E: [email protected] M: 0409499271
