Re: Objectors to the Ridgewood Meat Chicken Farm proposal


Dear Councillor Bolton,

On Saturday, the 20th of September 2014, we had lunch together with Pamela Sweetapple
and Libby Murphy, at Libby's home. During our meeting, you made the statement that
there were far more 'relevant' objectors to the Lawnville free-range chicken farm, than
there were to the Ridgewood meat chicken farm proposal.

By 'relevant objectors' I am assuming that you meant near neighbours that are concerned
about adverse impacts of the development.

According to the Noosa Council website and the Planners Reports, the Henbury free-
range chicken farm proposal received 8 submissions objecting to the proposal, which is a
total of 15 nearby residents, since some submissions were from couples.

However Milligan's meat chicken factory farm proposal received 44 submissions from
near neighbours objecting to his proposal - a total of over 60 nearby residents. In this case
there were also confidential submissions from several near neighbours. (See attached list
of objectors, and a map from the 16 September 2014 Planning & Organisation Committee
Meeting Report.)

You can see that there have been significantly more 'relevant' objections to the Ridgewood
broiler farm.
