that the region will experience increased overnight stays, international visitors, day-trippers and
potentially pre-Games preparation and training activities. Noosa has the opportunity to position itself
as a wellness, recovery and nature-based sustainable destination, before, during and after the Games.
These opportunities, however, come with potential challenges, including additional pressure on our
environment, community infrastructure, transport networks, accommodation and experiences.
To ensure benefits are realised without compromising Noosa’s lifestyle or natural assets, the DMP
includes targeted strategies across infrastructure and transport planning, environmental management,
destination marketing and community engagement. These measures will need specific focus, planning
and investment to ensure Noosa can embrace the opportunities of 2032 for the lasting benefit of the
community while ensuring we are prepared to manage the potential impacts and protect what makes
our place “different by nature.”

enhancing the place we love.
At the heart of our approach is a set of 4 Guiding Principles, shaped by the priorities, solutions

the steps the community believes are needed to take to help us meet them.
This plan includes actions that are both in progress and new. Section 2.2 lists all actions,
section 2.3 highlights new actions and programs as a priority focus for the next 1- 3 years.
