HIGHLIGHTS

Our extensive global program covered trade missions to key international
markets, international sales calls, training of trade specialists, hosting
visiting trade on famils, mentoring local members to help them work in
the international market, and marketing support for those already
in the global sphere.
We took part in Queensland on Tour trade roadshows with Tourism and
Events Queensland (TEQ) to the UK, Germany, France and Austria, meeting
hundreds of product managers, Aussie specialists, wholesalers and retail
travel trade to update them about the latest news from Noosa. We also
conducted a solo sales mission in the UK, delivering training sessions and
meetings to key wholesale teams. To support the Western travel agent
training program, we also attended Corroboree West.
We attended Australia Marketplace with Tourism Australia (TA) in North America,
a key source market for Noosa, meeting hundreds of agents from major suppliers including
Goway and Helloworld. The North American market delivered high value travellers with
visitation and spend trending upwards over several years.
The Australia’s Nature Coast partnership with Fraser Coast Tourism & Events,
Visit Sunshine Coast and Destination Gympie Region delivered a three-year strategy
and campaign activity across the UK and Europe in partnership with TEQ.
With travel restrictions in place, Tourism Noosa delivered virtual training sessions,
media updates and e-newsletters, updating the travel trade on Noosa’s export-ready
products to ensure Noosa is included in wholesale itineraries when borders re-open.
The travel trade is vital in reaching future international visitors who generally stay
3-5 nights and have relatively high spend on experiences. We work with partners
TA and TEQ and our UK representative the Sandra Leach Company to ensure
Noosa remains top of mind.
Mentoring for members
Tourism Noosa secured a $20,000 State Government
grant through the Building Better Regions Funding to
deliver an intense Industry Leadership Program to provide
members with mentoring, workshops and a roadshow
to Tasmania that demonstrated new thinking, packaging
opportunities, inspirational storytelling skills and sales
opportunities. Participants experienced ‘Best in Practice’ tourism offerings and analysed the
learnings to apply to their own tourism businesses, and had the chance to work together more
effectively. We also assisted in delivering the QTIC (Queensland Tourism Industry Council)
mentoring and Global Ready Industry Program.
