Council Reference: MCU14/0039 Our Reference: 01569 L10 NG th 4 March 2015 Chief Executive Officer Noosa Council Po Box 141 TEWANTIN QLD 4565 Confidential Email Transmission: [email protected] Original in Post: No Dear Sir/Madam RE: REQUEST TO EXTEND INFORMATION REQUEST PERIOD_______________________ Development Application for Material Change of Use for Cultivation – Type 2 Intensive for Premises at 305 Lake Macdonald Drive, Lake Macdonald and described as Lot 1 on SP108094; MCU 14/0039 th I refer to the above application lodged with Council, Councils information request issued 25 June 2014 th and subsequent extension of the time to provide the requested information until 13 March 2015. The applicant has been preparing a response to Councils information request and has engaged consultants to address stormwater, flooding and access. With regard to access the applicant has been investigating the use of the existing CSR/ Wimmers access point off Lake Macdonald with initial contact th indicating a positive outcome. Unfortunately the applicant has just been advised (27 February 2015) by CSR who have a lease over the access to Lake Macdonald Drive, that their solicitors have concerns with long term use of the access by others. The applicant is still pursuing discussions with CSR as well as engaging a traffic engineer to investigate alternative access points in the area however requires further time enable to investigate and negotiate an appropriate access for the site. The applicant is therefore requesting Council consideration of a further extension of time in which to respond to Councils information request. A period of at least 3 months is requested. It is noted that the application has been extended previously however the applicant has made significant progress in reducing the noise impacts of the proposal as well as addressing stormwater issues. In this regard the applicant has arranged for power to be extended to the green house to remove percieved noise impacts associated with the generator and has designed a recycling system for rainwater from the greenhouses on site. The applicant is intending to respond to the information request and wants to continue to work with Council to ensure the success of the site which is a much needed industry and employment generator for the local area. If you have any queries in relation to the application please do not hesitate to contact me. Yours faithfully, Nadine Gorton Senior Planner martoo consulting pty. ltd
