                                 Workplace health and safety
                                 Safety on board the survey vessel SandXpress, used for the single beam survey, was managed
                                 by the vessel master, Rod Tansley. Rod holds AMSA Coxswain Grade 1 Near Coastal
                                 certification and has over 30 years of maritime experience, including naval service.
                                 Weather conditions were managed such that on water conditions were calm, with light winds
                                 and a low swell. Visibility was reasonably clear despite cloud cover during the whole survey
                                 and the weather radar was monitored to ensure no storm cells or unexpected weather was
                                 approaching.
                                 SandXpress is a Yamaha Waverunner PWC in commercial 2C survey and operated under an
                                 up-to-date Safety Management System (SMS) as required by the Australian Maritime Safety
                                 Authority (AMSA). SandXpress was equipped with appropriate safety equipment including first
                                 aid kit and life jacket.
                                 At all times, the survey vessel skipper maintained the ability to contact assistance via mobile
                                 phones, and a team member was stationed on the beach to oversee operations and provide
                                 support if required.
                                 A SWMS was also developed and used in conjunction with the vessel SMS. SandMap uses an
                                 electronic SWMS system and the documentation was available for viewing on all phones at
                                 site. A risk assessment was carried out when first arriving on site and mitigation measures put
                                 in place for any new risks identified on site. All staff on site signed on.
                                 There were no incidents or near misses recorded and no injuries were sustained.

                                 coordinates projected onto the Map Grid of Australia 2020 (MGA2020) Zone 56.
