Single beam echo sounder system (SBES)
The CEE ECHO system from Cee Hydrosystems was used for the project. Transducer frequency
was 200kHz, 9° beam width and a ping rate of 20hHz. Points were later thinned to
approximately 1m. The system comprises of a transducer mounted to a custom bracket
starboard side aft and a GNSS antenna mounted on a pole directly above the transducer. The
SBES controller is installed in the box on the rear. A Panasonic Toughbook tablet is mounted
at the steering position with CEE Connect software installed to enable full control over the
SBES settings remotely. BeamworX hydrographic software is installed for all acquisition work.
Specifications for the equipment can be found in Appendix D: Equipment Specifications.

Limiting sea conditions affecting survey quality
Survey conditions ranged from 3 to 8 knot winds, predominantly from the south. Swell was
approximately 1m with a slight sea.

Method used to determine least depths
Depths were logged as soundings and displayed in BeamworX in real time along with the full
echogram. Processing and cleaning was carried out in BeamworX Autoclean using full
echogram information to determine true seabed. After data cleaning, points were thinned to
                                 approximately 1m intervals.
