Consultation

External Consultation - Community & Stakeholder

Council has previously engaged with the community on how best to minimise waste to landfill via
the Community Jury process, however this consultation does not fulfil the statutory requirements
for a draft Plan to be available for public comment for a minimum period of 28 days.

It is proposed to commence the statutory consultation process on the draft Plan immediately after
Easter with a closing date of 3 May 2016. This timeframe will allow Council Officers to assess
any comments and submissions received before presenting a final Plan to Council for adoption
prior to the end of the financial year.

Internal Consultation

Councillors and Council Officers attended a workshop on 28 September 2015 to discuss the
Community Jury recommendations as per the Council resolution of 27 August 2015.

Councillors were briefed on the contents of the Plan at a workshop held on 1 March 2016
