INFRASTRUCTURE & SERVICES COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA ~~ _ 16 SEPTEMBER 2014

The following principles apply to ensure the effective ongoing performance of Council’s asset
      management framework:

      1. Capital Planning — we have an integrated approach in our approach to acquiring, disposing
and renewing assets that ensures transparency and evaluates life cycle management of
           our assets.
      2. Asset Planning — our focus is on risk, demand, community benefit and whole of life costs in
           the management of our assets.
3: Decision Making — our decisions are evidenced based and we utilise the asset information
that we collate to ensure we consider the asset risks and life-cycle benefits for our
           community.
      4. Governance — our asset management framework ensures we are accountable in
establishing asset condition and performance with a whole of council approach to the
continued improvement and development of asset management activities.

      ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Asset management requires a whole of Council approach and is the responsibility of the
Leadership Team and staff. Specific asset class ownership is detailed in the Asset Responsibility
      Matrix.

The Asset Management Team (AMT) is a cross Council management team that operates to
maintain, coordinate, advise and facilitate the implementation of asset management strategies
      and plans.
The AMT will report on a periodic basis to the Leadership Team and Council as required.
