Gerald Victor. 25 Regatta Cct Noosaville 4566 Queensland. 19.03/2018 Ms Lisa Pienaar. Noosa Shire Council Tewantin 4565 Reference application MCU17/0073 Proposed Lutheran church expansion development. Dear Lisa Thank you for allowing me to have input to the above development. I have set out below my concerns regarding this issue. It is WITHOUT PREJUDICE that I make the following concerns and observations. TERMS OF USE. If the development was to proceed, I want written instruction that the venue is for worship use only and that it would not be used for commercial use such as weddings, meetings, concerts, or other commercial purposes. THE CROSS I believe that the cross being at a height of some 16 meters is too high. For those who do not have Christian religious beliefs it is by far too confronting. It should be placed at ground height on the front of the building. PURCHASE It could be argued that people purchased their houses near a church so they must persevere with what a church does. My argument is that we did not buy in the area of the church and then get built out with visual and noise polluting issues years later. LAND VALUES. We are concerned that the land values will be affected with the expansion of the church and the problems it will bring with noise and lighting. We already suffer with these problems as the school well knows. NOISE POLLUTION. Ever since we moved here the neighbourhood has had to endure noise pollution with the cleaning of the grounds starting at 7 am every school day. At times the police were called to quell neighbours aggressive behaviour because of the noise. The noise pollution is as follows, Loud speakers at assembly Blowers cleaning the yard at 7am every morning. Construction workers with machinery. Children screaming at playtime. Drums banging. Vehicle traffic rattling down the driveway. School fetes. School concerts. JUSTIFICATION I cannot see how the small proposed increase of church goers that attend at any one time, justifies this multimillion dollar development which will cater for worship purpose. The church is never half full as it is now. I believe that it is being expanded for commercial uses and not that of religious use. CONCLUSION Set out above are the reasons that I oppose the development in its present form. I insist that the neighbourhood is given written guarantees that this planned expansion will conform as not to interrupt our lives and property. Kind Regards Gerald Victor OAM JPQ
